Saeby Chemical supplies mining and metallurgy chemicals to mines, concentrators, hydrometallurgical plants and refineries across Europe. Our range supports the main stages of mineral processing: flotation, leaching, solvent extraction, electrowinning, pH control and effluent treatment. Every batch is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis and Safety Data Sheet.

Chemicals for every process stage
1. Flotation
Flotation separates valuable sulfide minerals from waste rock. Ammonium dibutyl dithiophosphate is a selective collector that improves copper, lead and precious-metal recovery while rejecting iron sulfides such as pyrite. It is often used together with xanthates to balance recovery and concentrate grade. Caustic soda is used to set and hold the circuit pH that makes this selectivity work.
2. Leaching
Sulfuric acid is the main lixiviant for heap and tank leaching of copper, zinc, uranium and other metals. Consistent concentration and low impurities help keep acid consumption and downstream purification costs under control. See our guide: Sulfuric Acid Grades Explained.
3. Solvent extraction (SX)
D2EHPA is one of the most widely used extractants in hydrometallurgy, for zinc, cobalt and nickel refining, rare earth separation and uranium recovery. Plants use pH control, usually with caustic soda, to decide which metals load, and strip the loaded organic with sulfuric acid. Learn more in What Is D2EHPA Used For?
4. Electrowinning and refining
Sulfuric acid is used to make up and control electrolyte in copper and zinc electrowinning, while zinc chloride serves metal processing and flux applications.
5. Effluent and tailings treatment
Hydrogen peroxide destroys residual cyanide in gold-plant tailings and effluent and breaks down into water and oxygen. Ferrous sulfate helps remove arsenic and reduce chromium (VI), and caustic soda neutralises acidic mine drainage and precipitates heavy metals.
Regulated reagents
We also supply sodium cyanide for gold and silver leaching and ammonium nitrate for commercial blasting agents. These products are strictly regulated. We supply them only to licensed mining and explosives companies, after verifying company registration, end-use and the permits required in the destination country. A signed end-user certificate is required with every order.
Who we supply
